Mobile subscriber logging-on method for cellular mobile communications system

The logging-on method uses a radio positioning system, e.g. a GPS system, for determining the position coordinates of the mobile subscriber station. These are used by the base station covering the cell in which the mobile subscriber station is located, for assigning the mobile subscriber station to a free channel of the nearest microcell. The mobile subscriber station may transmit the calculated position coordinates to the base station covering the cell in which it is located at fixed time intervals.
