The object identification is achieved using signature analysis pref. thermal signature analysis and the use of highly sensitive and high resolution sensor systems. The object to be identified or detected is partially or completely included in the object space (2) and receives the formed distribution of the temperature profile. The imaged distribution of the radiation energy profile is received within the wavelength range of about 300 micrometers to 680 nanometers. The thermal signature is produced on the surface of the object space using a thermal energy source. The thermal energy source is identical to the object to be identified. The thermal energy of the source is produced using a suitable internal or external energy feed. The feed results using an electromagnetic AC field. The field evaluates the excitation of the material specific dipole moment of the source system. The excitation forms the converter mechanism between the alternating frequency electromagnetic field energy and thermal energy. The thermal energy of the source, is transformed by thermal radiation on the surface of the object.
