Procedure for traction control on car equipped with ABS

A procedure for traction control on a car equipped with ABS has the wheel speeds of at least the driving wheels detected. At least one valve arrangement assigned to the driving wheels is provided for pressure build-up, pressure maintenance and pressure reduction. With the brake pedal operated and with unreliable slip occurring at least at one driving wheel, brake pressure of the brake pressure built-up by the driver in the brake assigned to this wheel is modulated by controlling the assigned valve arrangement in the sense of a slip control. The brake pressure modulation only takes place when at least one of the following criteria is fulfilled: (1) the driver has operated an additional switch element; (2) the car speed lies below a specified threshold; (3) a certain time after the start of the brake control has still not elapsed; and (4) the gas pedal is operated.
