Respiration hose compliance evaluation method for artificial respiration apparatus

The compliance evaluation method uses a pressure sensor (14) detecting the pressure variation in the respiration circuit (1) between gas flow control valves (5,6) coupled to the respiration hoses (3,4) and a volume displacement device (8), displaced to obtain a required pressure difference with at least one of the valves in the open position and the corresponding volume detected. The open valves are closed and the volume displacement device adjusted to obtain the reverse pressure difference, with calculation of the compliance from the quotient of the volume difference and the pressure difference.
