The relay has an electromagnetically influenceable pivot arm (2), a housing with a current carrying coil, electrical inputs and outputs and fixed contacts alternately opened and closed by a moving contact on the pivot arm to influence the electrical propagation or interruption of a voltage or current. The contact carrying pivot arm is a flexural piezo element with a magnetically influenceable layer (3,3.1) on at least on one side. The pivot arm is supported in at least one switching position by a magnetic holding arrangement (4,4.1).
