The transducer is a prism with surfaces (14) of optical quality. The prism is metal-coated with gold, on which free electrons are generated. The prism is made of glass, especially BK-7, and cuvettes are arranged above the prism in a tubular shape. A clamp holds the cuvette on to the upper surface of the prism. The transducer uses SPR-exciting light, generating plasmons.
