The piston fluid displacement unit has a housing with a crank chamber (102), a suction inlet chamber (107) and an outlet chamber (106), and a cylinder block (101) with a number of drillings (101a) for the pistons. A rotating drive shaft (108) is in the cylinder block (101). The pistons in the drillings (101a) have a cylindrical body (116a) with an axially extending engagement section (116b) from it. The cylindrical body (116a) has a self-lubricating coating of polytetrafluorethylene (PTFE). At least one piston ring (130) is of self-lubricating PTFE. An angled plate (114) is bonded to the drive shaft (108) and has a bearing (115) for each piston, to move them to and fro in the drillings (101a) with the rotation of the plate (114). A cut-out section is within the cylindrical body (116a) of each piston, so that the cylindrical body has a C-shape in a cross section at right angles to the longitudinal axis of the pistons.
