In the double-walled form of the roll, the outer wall has welded entrainment profiles positioned in the radial planes of the webs, at least some of the entrainment profiles forming perforated drainage channels. The radial heights of the drainage channels may increase uniformly from a minimum value near the roll middle to a maximum value at the channel ends (7).
