Convertible rail-road vehicle which can travel on rail stretches as well as on road

The vehicle is adapted for travel on rail stretches as well as on the road. It has rubber-tired wheels (2) for travel on the road and rail bogies with railway wheels (3) for rail travel. There is a further braking device besides at least one braking installation that works upon wheels and thereby is influenced by the friction between wheel and rail (8). This is designed as a rail brake (6) and works independently of the brake forces that can be transmitted between wheel and rail. In addition it has at least one energy-dissipating device (9) on at least one end side of the vehicle frame (1) to which a railway coupling (10) is fastened. The frame has closing crossbeams on both end sides which are connected by additional longitudinal beams in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle.
