Dynamic monitoring system for press machine operation during workpiece production cycles

A configuration of accelerometers (42) acquires measurement data indicating the acceleration of a press machine at a number of locations of the press machine. An integrator (46) converts the acceleration data into displacement data representing the displacement activity of the press machine at each of the indicated machine locations. The apparatus may be configured as a separate unit or as a console mounted unit operatively attached to a press machine. An Independent claim is also included for a method of dynamically monitoring the operation of a press machine.
