The arrangement has a source arranged in the area monitored by the microwave sensor (3,4), which transmits microwaves in a frequency range close to that of the sensor, thus simulating an object moving within the area. The frequency of the microwave sensor can be varied periodically. The source is a microwave antenna (9) or resonant circuit arrangement
