The bending apparatus is intended for roll stands with four or more rolls including working rolls, support rolls and possibly intermediate rolls between the working and support rolls. The roll bearing blocks (5, 6) on both sides are acted upon by bending blocks (8, 9) which are vertically guided in the ports of the roll stand structure. The bending blocks of a roll pair are movable towards and away from one another by means of piston and cylinder units. Each bearing block the (5, 6) on both sides is acted upon by a further vertically guided bending block (16, 17) which is movable independently of the bending blocks (8, 9) by means of a piston and cylinder unit (18) installed in the roll stand structure (7).
