A capacitative voltage divider for measuring high voltage pulses with a nanosecond and microsecond pulse duration is modified using simple circuitry for precise measurement of high voltage pulses with a millisecond pulse duration. The voltage divider, as known per se, consists of two capacitive voltage divider cascades. In the measuring cascade, the elevated capacitor is shunted by an ohmic resistance (R1). Said resistance is not used as a terminal for measuring lines. As a result, its dimensions have a different basis, whereby high voltage pulses in the 100 kV range can be measured with ±0,02 % accuracy.
