In a process for gasifying material contg. combustible components in a circulating fluidised bed, the material is gasified in the fluidised bed reactor (4) with a feed of oxygen-contg. gas at 600 - 1000 degrees C., a gas-solid mixt. is fed from above the reactor to a separator (8), dust-contg. gas is withdrawn from the separator, solids are removed from the gas, and the solids are recycled into the reactor. The dust-contg. gas from the separator is fed into a combustion chamber (19), in which the gas is burned at 1200 - 1900 degrees C. forming a liquid slag. The slag and combustion gas are removed from the chamber, the gas being cooled forming water vapour. At least one part of the solids formed in the separator is fed to a fluidised bed condenser and cooled solids recycled into the lower part of the fluidised bed reactor. Water vapour is fed through the fluidised condenser to indirectly cool the solids, in which the water vapour is superheated to 300 - 600 degrees C.
