A carrier frequency signal is modulated with a low frequency signal, and the carrier signal is received by the homodyne receiver. The detection sensitivity for low frequency signals is raised before the carrier signal is converted to a base band signal. The low frequency signals are decoupled from a supplementary signal to increase the sensitivity of the homodyne receiver. The decoupling is performed using a band pass filter after the carrier signal has been converted to a base band signal. The homodyne receiver includes a local oscillator.
