PURPOSE:To uniformly form a ZnAl alloy coated film on the surface of a steel by incorporating flux with zinc chloride, one or more kinds among alkali metal salt or the like and one or more kinds among aliphatic nitrogen derivatives. CONSTITUTION:Flux for hot dip metal coating is incorporated with zinc chloride and stannous chloride, one or more kinds among alkali metal salt or alkaline earth metal salt and one or more kinds among aliphatic nitrogen derivatives. As the aliphatic nitrogen derivatives, alkyl quaternary ammonium salt and/or alkyl amines is used. The flux is incorporated with 10 to 50wt.% of zinc chloride and/or stannous chloride and 0.1 to 30wt.% of one or more kinds among alkyl quaternary ammonium salt and alkyl amines. In this way, its productivity can be improved.
