PURPOSE: To obtain an fine particle of an alkali metal compound having low bulk density by bringing an aqueous solution of an alkali metal compound into contact with a combustion gas generated from a specific pulse combustor. ;CONSTITUTION: An inlet 10 or 11 for an aqueous solution of a raw material is placed at the inside or at the outlet port of the combustion gas-discharging tube 6 of a pulse combustor 1. An aqueous solution of an alkali metal compound such as NaCl, KCl, Na2SO4, etc., is fed through the inlet for an aqueous solution of a raw material and it is brought into contact with pulse combustion gas of about 300-600°C generated from a pulse combustor 1. The alkali metal aqueous solution is instantly dehydrated and alkali metal fine particles having low bulk density such as about 0.2-0.3g/mL and particle diameters of about 10-40μm are formed. The particles are separated from the combustion gas at a dried powder-trapping apparatus 9 of a cyclone-type and the separated particles are discharged from a dried powder-discharging outlet 12.
