The cleaning system for road traffic lights comprises a rotating circular brush (2), with a series of peripheral bristles, connected to an electric motor (11) and to a cleaning liquid reservoir (60). The brush is located at the end of a transverse arm (3) fixed on the upper part (4) of a principal mast (5) formed from several composite tubes. The mast lower part (6) constitutes a cartridge case for batteries (7a,7b,7c,7d) and is extended by an intermediate tube (8) having a control handle (9). An upper tube (10) forming the transverse arm in which the motor is located is connected by a tube (12) to the intermediate part (8). The reservoir for the cleaning liquid (7) has a manually operated piston (26) for pressurising it. It is connected by a supply pipe (27) to a supply duct in the mast by a connector (28).
