The cleaner has a jet cleaner head (17) connected to a feed pump (19) supplied with the used water and connected to a jet tube. A control actuates the jet assembly depending on the level of water in the tank. The jet tube can taper towards its front end (35) and the tube can be closed to atmosphere between the pump outlet and the end of the jet tube. The end of the jet tube can be situated at a level of at least one metre above the base of the tank.
