The blade setting control has pneumatic actuators (6,7), acting individually on the rotation of the blades (1,2) to alter their pitch. The effort on the blades is controlled by a servomechanism. The servomechanism has a computer (24) receiving data from angular position detectors (12,13) and pressure transducers (17,20). The computer controls the opening and closing of solenoid valves for admission (16,19) and escape (22) of air to and from the pneumatic actuator to obtain the required pressure on the face of the actuator piston. Flow regulators at the inlet to each actuator slow distribution of air between the actuators. Anti-return valves (21) are placed at the outlets of each actuator.
