The unit has an A/D conversion stage (4) which has two A/D converters (20,23) that receive respective general information signals (21) and particular directed information signals (24). The A/D converter outputs are fed to a multiplexer (6) and a calculation stage (8) which are driven by a clock (26) which also operates the A/D converters through a frequency divider (28). Alternately, the calculator stage delivers a set of data representing each signal. A transmission period estimator (30), carrier recoverer (32), an automatic gain adjuster (34) and a Nyquist filter (36) reduce the intersymbol interference. A received signal quality estimator (38), a Viterbi decoder (40) and sequence decoder and error corrector (42) are connected two-way to memories (50,52) for respective signals.
