The antitheft system for money or objects of value comprises a protective safe (3) which is attached to the ground, and an injection tube (2) attached to the top of the safe to allow insertion of money. The money or valuables to be stored may be introduced into small canisters which are able to travel through the insertion tube. The injection tube has an anti-return mechanism preventing the withdrawal of money after insertion. The safe co-operates with a further security system, including a camera (11) which observes the safe from above. If any attempt is made to force entry to the safe this automatically triggers operation of the camera which then records activity. Further electronic alarm devices may also be activated by any such attempt.
