The roof of the reach and self-supporting for residential building

The large span roof for an apartment building is made from sheet metal roofing (1) comprising trapezoidal undulations (2) in the direction of greatest slope (8). The roofing is self-supporting and is supported only near its ends (4,5) on the top of the support walls (6,7) by metal beams (13,14). The roofing directly supports sound and thermal insulation, lighting device and fire protection by associated anchorings. At the end of the undulations it supports skylights, ventilation and filters. The roofing is fixed onto the beams in its lower part (12) through a flat part of each undulation by a lower fixing bolt (21) passing through a circular hole and a sealing joint. The upper fixing bolt (16) passes through an oblong hole enabling thermal expansion and is protected from rain by a sheet metal ridge tile.
