Method of stabilization of the waste materials, by hydraulic binder.

In a waste stabilisation process employing a hydraulic binder, a nitrate or nitrite ion-containing material is added during preparation of the mortar based on waste, hydraulic binder and water. Preferably, the added material is selected from nitrates and nitrites of Fe, Al, Na, K, Ca and Mg and dilute nitric acid and is added in amount 1.5-60 (preferably 3.5-30) wt. parts (expressed as nitrate or nitrite ions) per 1000 wt. parts of waste. Also claimed is a mortar which is based on hydraulic binder, waste and water and which additionally contains a nitrate or nitrite ion-containing material.
