PROCESS FOR WELDING THERMOFORMED SHEETS OF PLASTIC MATERIAL AND MACHINE FOR CARRYING OUT SAID METHOD

According to this process, hot air is blown at a determined temperature on the pads for welding the sheets (19, 21, 22 ...) two by two, while exerting on the sheets transverse forces (P) in order to keep them applied one on the other, then cold air is blown on the solder pads. The machine allows the welding of a cellular block (18) of sheets (19, 21, 22) superimposed by their mutual contact pads, these sheets delimiting between them horizontal cells. This machine comprises two batteries (23) of horizontal tubes (24), displaceable horizontally and adapted to be able to be inserted laterally into the horizontal cells of the block, these tubes being provided with air blowing nozzles on the studs. This process makes it possible to heat the plates without contact, therefore dispensing with a cleaning cycle for the heat source. It makes it possible to easily carry out the welding of cellular blocks of profiled sheets of polypropylene or polyethylene without the drawbacks of the other known welding methods.
