The access hatches are rectangular and are positioned side by side in a frame (4) which is made or angle bars (5) arranged in a groove (6) in a concrete chamber. The hinge mechanism has two sleeves (9, 10) on the inner edge (13) of the angle bar in the area where the access hatch is positioned. A horizontal rod (11) passes through the sleeves on which are mounted two supports (12, 13) which can slide along the rod and which are detachable. Each support has a central lug (14a) and the inner face of the lug rests against the inner vertical wall of the concrete chamber. The upper section of the support, at right angles to the central lug, has an extended section which is parallel to the horizontal lug. A shoulder (18) at right angles to the inner surface of the hatch which fits under the extended section of the support.
