The support comprises a series of horizontal strips (4) attached to rigid or supple vertical strips (2) which are suspended by rods from a suspension bar by a channel. The slats are attached to the vertical strips by clips with hooked ends to engage with transverse slots in the strips, and beneath each of the slots the strips can have sloping lugs which act as supports for the slats. The rods are made with heads which slide into channel in the suspension bar.
