Precision measuring apparatus for changes in size of human body or other compressible structure

The apparatus consists of a graduated measuring tape (1) of a non-stretch material, equipped with a holder (3) on one end (2). The other end of the tape is equipped with an instrument (5) for monitoring the tension applied to the tape when passed round the part of the body being measured. The instrument can be of simple mechanical type with return springs, or an electronic box for measuring the force applied to the tape and containing a visual or sound indicator.
