Water economy mechanism for lavatory flush cistern

The mechanism consists of two pulleys (2) connected by their pivots (3) to a bell (8) and a line (4) connected to the valve float (9). The line passes round the pulleys and the spring-loaded lower end of the flush control knob rod (1). The knob is depressed for half a second to release half a liter of water, for one second to release a liter, and so on, or it is raised to discharge all the water in the cistern.
