The invention concerns a pharmaceutical speciality comprising an iron salt, at least two polyols, a binding agent, a lubricating agent and a flavouring agent. The element iron dose is at least 5 mg, preferably 10 to 15 mg per tablet. The proportion of one of the polyols on its own is at least 10 %, preferably at least 20 %, of the total tablet mass, the global proportion of polyols being at 50 %, preferably at least 75 %. One of the polyols is xylitol, in a proportion of at least 10 %, preferably at least 20 %. The other polyol is sorbitol and/or mannitol.
