The polygonal container (2) is assembled from flat panels of twin-walled plastic to form a base (4), side walls and a reinforced upper rim (7). Adjacent side walls are joined together by flaps and the sections (8,9) of the rim are welded together. The lid (3) has corner pieces to facilitate stacking, and guides (21, 250) for fastening bands.
