A suitcase-type container (11) houses equipment required for testing on site and after installation that a gas pipe such as a boiler exhaust pipe is gas tight and secure. The case contains an electric air compressor (7), flowmeters with different scales (8,14), a manometer (10) and a smoke generator (16) and has integral connections (12,13) to terminal fittings for the pipe being tested.
