Golf club shaft with woody appearance

A golf club shaft is composed of a tapered rod body 20 made of fiber reinforced plastic and a wooden layer 22. At least part of the tapered rod body 20 is covered with the wooden layer 22 lending a woody appearance to the shaft which is capable of absorbing shock and insulating against electricity. A transparent surface layer 25 may be provided.
