PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method and a device by which the sulfate ion content of a salt product can be analyzed in a short time without requiring pretreatment. ;SOLUTION: Infrared rays are applied to a sample 33 in a sample cup 32 by an infrared spectrophotometer 10, and the diffused reflected light generated from the sample is condensed, and diffusive reflection intensity in a measuring wave number 1110cm-1 and diffusive reflection intensity in a reference wave number in 1240cm-1 are measured.
