PURPOSE: To prevent the generation of double application between plural extra charge systems or between plural discount charge systems. ;CONSTITUTION: This taximeter is provided with charge system storing means 118, 327 for storing charge system data, tariff setting means 107, 109, 113, 313 to 319 for setting up a charge system to be applied to the calculation of taxi fare, a calculating means 323A for calculating taxi fare based upon the charge system data in accordance with the operation of the means 107, 109, 113, 313 to 319, a display means 305 for displaying taxi fare, and a display driving means 323B for displaying the taxi fare calculated by the means 323A on the display means 305. The taximeter is also provided with a charge system overlap judging means 323C for judging whether plural charge systems having the same sort of extra or discount charges are set up or not and a selection means 323D for selecting one charge system from among plural ones when the means 323C judges that there are plural charge systems having the same sort of extra or discount charge systems and the means 323A calculates taxi fare by applying the selected charge system.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1996,JPO
