PURPOSE:To regenerate an adsorbent by applying proper voltage to the adsorbent used in the adsorption of moisture in gas to be treated. CONSTITUTION:Moisture in gas to be treated is adsorbed on an adsorbent. The adsorbed moisture is electrolyzed by applying proper voltage to the adsorbent to regenerate the adsorbent. As a voltage-applying means, electrode plates each having a multilayer structure wherein positive electrodes and negative electrodes are alternately laminated are used. The adsorbent is received between the electrode plates and voltage is applied to the electrode plates. As the adsorbent, phosphorus pentoxide or synthetic zeolite can be used. By adapting this method to a dehumidifier or a moisture measuring apparatus, the replacement of the adsorbent can be made unnecessary.
