PURPOSE: To provide a process to replace a first catalyst in a solid state circulating in a hydrocarbon-treating plant by a second catalyst, which plant comprising at least one processing reactor where the catalyst exists as a moving-bed. ;CONSTITUTION: The process of the present invention comprises a step to withdraw a first catalyst on the downstream side from each reactor 1 in the direction of catalyst circulation or from reactor 1 itself, a step to inject a second catalyst on the upstream side from the reactor 1 or into each reactor 1 itself, a step to measure continuously the bulk density of the withdrawn material on the downstream side from each reactor 1 or in reactor 1 itself, and a step to interrupt the withdrawal of the first catalyst and the injection of the second catalyst when the bulk density thus measured is equal to that of the second catalyst.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO
