PURPOSE:To perform contention control of use request by connecting an exclusive cross call control circuit, for making effective only the first use request from an inter-carrying section controller and for overriding other use requests, directly with the control section. CONSTITUTION:A use request from an inter-carrying section control section 1 to a medium carrying section 2 is fed to an exclusive cross call control circuit 3. If the circuit 3 decides that the use request is a contentions request, the circuit 3 makes only the first use request effective and overrides other use requests. Subsequently, a memory medium is carried in response to use request from the control section 1. According to the constitution, circuitry for achieving cross call function is simplified remarkably and only one interface cable is required, resulting in the reduction of the size of the control circuit and the number of cable.
