PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a revolver developing device capable of correct positioning in rotation despite a low cost by composing the revolver developing device so that a developing device is rotated via an intermittent gear mechanism. ;SOLUTION: When a motive gear 31 of a developing device starts rotation (a), a follower gear 33 with one of its grooves engaged with a pin 32 disposed near the periphery of the motive gear 31 rotates by only a specific angle (b, c). Then, when the pin 32 escapes from the groove of the follower gear 33, a projecting peripheral face 34 of the motive gear 31 corresponding to a external curved face of the follower gear 33 comes to a position opposite to the following gear 33, thereby immovably holding the follower gear 33 into the position where the pin 32 has escaped therefrom (d). By the time the pin 32 is engaged with the following groove again (f), the motive gear 31 can rotate holding the follower gear 33 immovably (e). Under the condition, a driving motor is stopped so as to stop the rotation of the motive gear 31.
