PURPOSE: To maintain the preservation property of a color developer, prevent the deterioration in the photographic performance such as the reduction of a color density and the occurrence of photographic fog, reduce the odor, and contain no deleterious substance by containing a reaction product reacted with polyethyleneimine, formalin, and hydrogen peroxide. ;CONSTITUTION: A reaction product obtained without being separated when polyethyleneimine, formalin, and hydrogen peroxide are reacted is contained. The polyethyleneimine to be used is expressed by the formula, where (n) indicates an integer of 5-2,000. Any of the generally used aromatic first-grade amine color developing agent may be used as the color developing agent for a color developer. The color developer can contain normally used various constituents, e.g. an alkaline agent such as potassium hydroxide, sodium hydroxide, potassium carbonate, and sodium phosphate, an sulfite such as sodium sulfite and potassium sulfite, and a halide such as hydrogensulfite, and a development accelerator.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1994,JPO
