Huffman decoding circuit and Huffman decoding manner

摘要

PURPOSE:To provide the Huffman decoding circuit capable of high-speed operation and small in circuitry. CONSTITUTION:Plural Huffman codes are divided into three groups by code length. Huffman codes whose number of bits is =6 are decoded by a decoding circuit 51 consisting of a logic circuit. Huffman codes whose number of bits is =7 and =12 are decoded by a memory table 52 consisting of a static RAM. Huffman codes whose number of bits is =13 and =16 are decoded by a memory table 53 consisting of a static RAM. Additional bit length data ABL is subtracted from total bit length data TBL outputted from each of memory tables 52 and 53 to calculate Huffman code length data HCL.
