PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent information on an erased old session from being mistakenly obtained in the case of a CD-RW disk, by accessing a lead-in area of a divided final session and obtaining lead-in information as valid information only when the information is judged to be valid. ;SOLUTION: A lead-in area of an innermost circumference of a CD-RW disk is accessed, and start time information on the area is obtained from ATIP information. PMA information is obtained on the basis of the start time information on the lead-in area. Adjacent tracks are divided to sessions on the basis of a time interval of the tracks by the PMA information. A lead-in area of a divided final session is accessed and, the presence/absence of lead-in information and its validity are judged. The judgment is conducted, for example, by any one comparative inspection of TOC information included in the lead-in information and PMA information or on the basis of a combination of a plurality of the inspections.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
