PURPOSE: To show all of the text of a text header to a user even if the whole text of the text header is not put within the width of a window on a display screen because the window is reduced in width. CONSTITUTION: The length of the text and the width of the window 202 are calculated respectively and compared with each other. If the length of the text exceeds the width of the window, only parts 204D 0 204H of the text which can be put in the window are displayed in the window. Further, those displayed parts are taken out by sampling parts of specific length from character strings of the text while shifting them, character by character. Those sampling and display are continuously carried out to scroll the text continuously in the window and slide the text in the window.
