PURPOSE: To suppress the generation of oxide and to prevent the sticking of the oxide in weir by preventing the entrapment of the air at the time of pumping up molten metal for metal or alloy ingot. ;CONSTITUTION: A casting trough assembly for metal or alloy ingot is composed of an alloy adjusting furnace 1, the pump having a discharging pipe 29 provided in the furnace 1, a mold 9 and the casting trough 10 from the discharging pipe 29 to the mold 9. Then the casting trough 10 bends the base part side upward to form a returning hole at the upper position, and at the tip side 20, the weir 21 for staying basin and a parting wall 27 are provided to form molten metal staying chamber 23 on the bottom part 22 and a discharging hole 30 at the tip part of the discharging pipe 29 is opened into the molten metal 31 in the molten metal staying chamber 23, and a vertical rotational shaft 32 is provided in the vicinity of the discharging pipe 29. The inside and the outside of the weir 21 for staying basin are formed as an inside circular surface 24 and an outside circular surface 25 becoming gradually higher and gradually lower and the top part of the weir 21 for staying basin is made to be acute edge 26.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1993,JPO&Japio
