PURPOSE:To raise the tear strength and fitness of a water shield sheet by using the water shield sheet made of the woven fabric of thermoplastic filaments having a given stress value at a given elongation at ordinary temperature. CONSTITUTION:A water shield sheet 1 to be used in civil and building construction work is formed of the woven fabric of thermoplastic filaments having a stress of 1.0-2.0g/d at 40%, elongation at ordinary temperature and a stress of 1.5-3.9g/d at 80% elongation, as a base cloth. The base cloth-containing water shield sheet having high tear strength and excellent fitness to uneven face can thus be obtained.
