PURPOSE:To readily obtain a ceramic product having spot pattern or granite pattern by adding colored pigment to one or more kinds of base glaze having a specific composition and viscosity, combining two or more kinds of the resultant colored glaze grains to glaze the base of ceramic and calcining the base of ceramic. CONSTITUTION:(A) One or more kinds of base glaze selected from (A) a compound having glaze composition consisting of 0.5-0.9 Al2O3, 0.5-7 SiO2, 0.5-1 R1O (R1 is Ca, Mg, etc.) and 0-0.5 R O (R2 is K, Na, etc.,) and having 8-11 viscosity index, (B) compound having glaze composition consisting of 0.2-0.6 Al2O3, 0.5-7 SiO2, 0.5-1 R1O and 0-0.5 R O, having 5-8 viscosity index and selected from 2-5 viscosity index in a temperature range used are produced. Then a colored pigment is added to the base glaze and two or more kind of the resultant colored glaze grains are combined and applied to the ceramic base and calcined to provide ceramic product having spot pattern or granite-like pattern.
