PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the traveling noise by a tread and optimize the riding comfort by dividing the tread into a grid of cells, specifying one group of cell piles in each of contact areas, and specifying the longitudinal rigidity value and lateral rigidity value of each pile. SOLUTION: A tread is divided into a three-dimensional grid consisting of filled cells 23 and empty cells 24, and cell piles 123-125 each of which has a base area equal to the base area of one cell and the height equal to the thickness of the tread are specified in the grid. One group of the cell piles 123-125 present under the contact area of the tread is specified, and the longitudinal rigidity value and lateral rigidity value are determined to each cell pile 123-125. Further, the contact area within a lateral strip having a preliminarily selected longitudinal length is divided so that each of the cross sectional strips has one set of cell piles.
