PURPOSE:To obtain an MPC circuit where a saturable reactor is simple in structure by a method wherein at least an air-core reactor is connected to a saturable reactor in parallel or series. CONSTITUTION:In a magnetic pulse compression circuit which is formed of a close loop composed of a saturable reactor 1A and a pair of capacitors 6 and 7 and compresses a supplied pulse into a pulse provided with a sharper leading edge, at least an air-core reactor 14 is connected to the saturable reactor 1A in parallel or series. The electric energy of the fed pulses is partially injected into the air-core reactor 14, and a core 3 in the magnetic pulse compression saturable reactor 1A is reset in magnetization through the electric energy emitted from the air-core reactor 14 just after the compression of pulses to return to the magnetized state in which it was before pulses were compressed. By this constitute, the MPC saturable reactor 1A can be magnetically reset without providing a reverse magnetic flux generating power supply and a reverse magnetic flux generating winding coil.
