PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a curable composition comprising a polycyanate ester of a polyhydric phenol containing glycidyl ether and a liquid readily soluble catalyst capable of curing the ester. ;SOLUTION: This curable composition comprising a polyisocyanate ester of a polyhydric phenol, a glycidyl ether of a polyhydric phenol, which is mixed with the polycyanate ester and is in an amount of 70wt.% based on the total of a mixture composed of both the esters and a catalyst constituted of a liquid solution prepared by dissolving a carboxylic acid metal salt in a monohydric alcohol. The metal is selected from among bivalent Cu, Mn, Sn, Pb, Zn, Co and Ni, trivalent Fe and Cr and tetravalent Ti, the carboxylic acid has 4-24 carbon atoms and the alcohol is selected from among a 5-12C aliphatic alcohol, a (nonsubstituted or alkylated) benzyl alcohol, a 8-11C alicyclic alcohol and a (5-18C alkyl) ether glycol.;COPYRIGHT: (C)1998,JPO
