Database management manner and system null of the image information which utilizes the Web browser

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display an image in an image field at the time of retrieving a data base by referring to a registered image file in the case of image information and displaying the image information by a Web browser on a client side. ;SOLUTION: When image information is stored, in a data base 5 on a server side, an image file name is stored in an optional column and also an image file is previously registered in a storage device 6. A data processor 4 on the server side which is provided with a Web server function accesses the data base 5 according to a data retrieval request from a client 1. Then, it decides whether or not the retrieval result is the image information and when the result is the image information, the image file is referred and an HTML document for displaying the image information display is prepared.
